Race Report

RACE-1 THE TREVISA RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1200 METRES (372)

1 My Target (C Perkins) –On jumping away became unbalanced when bumped by 2 Charming Shanghai; Became unbalanced when racing in restricted to the inside of 5 Twiningoceanstarbo after passing the 800 metres, both riders C Perkins and L Salles were advised to exercise more care in future.
2 Charming Shanghai (Apprentice K Y Wong) –On jumping away struck the outside gate and then shifted out and made contact with 5 Twiningoceanstarbo as a result its rider became unbalanced and 2 Charming Shanghai lost ground; Poor performance; Rider stated that his mount did not feel right in its action; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
4 Macau Health (H Lam) –Over raced in the early and middle stages; Approaching the 700 metres had to be steadied off the heels of 5 Twiningoceanstarbo.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of 7 Sharp Spear (W T Pao), Trainer J Lau stated that the horse which had been racing on the sand is better suited on the turf track.

VETERINARY:
2 Charming Shanghai (Apprentice K Y Wong) – A post race veterinary examination of 2 Charming Shanghai which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Sharp Spear (W T Pao) – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Hungpaoshaq (R Stewart) –A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was lame in the left foreleg. Trainer P Leyshan was informed that 10 Hungpaoshaq will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
