Race Report

RACE-5 THE QINGDAO RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1350 METRES (436)

1 Truely Love (L Corrales) –Was slow to muster speed; Performed below market expectation; A post race veterinary examination and swab was ordered by the Stewards; Trainer J M Moore advised that the rider said his mount resented the kick back and was never on the bit and he highlighted that when the horse had been successful on the sand it had drawn wide barriers.
2 King Achilles (Apprentice K Y Wong) –Trainer K H Leong advised that he would instruct the rider to attempt to ride it in a forward position; 2 King Achilles led; Rider explained that he had obtained a greater lead than he would have wished as the gelding had pulled very hard and would not come back under him despite his efforts to restrain it.
3 River Wave (A Calder) –Shifted out on jumping away and made contact with 9 Golden Vitality which became unbalanced
5 Voguish (M Cangas) –Was beaten in excess of 50 lengths; Trainer Y C Fung was advised that it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial.

9 Golden Vitality (K W Leong) –Was beaten in excess of 50 lengths; Trainer K C Tse was advised that it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
10 Windsor Arch Four (D Chong) –Was eased up in the straight; Rider reported that he felt something amiss with the gelding; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.

VETERINARY:
1 Truely Love (L Corrales) –A post race veterinary examination of the 1 Truely Love which performed below market expectation and drifted in the betting failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Windsor Arch Four (D Chong) –A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was severely lame in the right foreleg; Trainer A Ngai was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial and a veterinary certificate is produced.
