Race Report

RACE-3 THE INTENTIONALLY (DIV.2) RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1200 METRES (380)

3 Super Smile (R B Woodworth) -At the request of the rider was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and ruled fit to race; Jumped away very awkwardly.
4 Elegance Legend (H Lam) -Near 500 metres was obliged to steady off heels.
6 St Lepin (B Yamzon) -On jumping away was taken out by another runner and forced to check off heels.
7 Amazing Eagle (M Cangas) -Shortly after the start was taken across the back of the field to be positioned closer to the rail; Near the 700 metres was inconvenienced briefly when tightened for room.
11 Super Dan (R Stewart) –Near the 300 metres was inconvenienced when taken off its line; Inside the 200 metres was forced to check when tightened for room.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into the circumstances in which 11 Super Dan (R Stewart) lost its running inside the 200 metres. The Stewards established that when attempting a legitimate run between 10 Sunshineprosperous (F Durso) and 1 Oracle Master (K K Lai), the running of 11 Super Dan was taken by 1 Oracle Master which shifted in at the same time as 10 Sunshineprosperous rolled out. After considering the evidence, the Stewards issued Jockey K K Lai with a severe reprimand (careless riding). He was advised in future he would be required to take far greater care and attempt to correct mounts which commenced shift ground sooner than he did on this occasion.

VETERINARY:
6 St Lepin (B Yamzon) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
11 Super Dan (R Stewart) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
