Race Report

RACE-5 THE BOURKE RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1200 METRES (51)

1 My Pony (C Perkins) -Jumped awkwardly contacting its inside gate.
2 Power Alkhafif (B Yamzon) -Jumped awkwardly and brushed; From the 400 metres became held up briefly and after entering the straight had difficulty have clear ground.
10 Happy Alloy (H Lam) –Trainer C F Chan was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
12 My Lucky Baby (K M Lei) -On jumping was brushed and became unbalanced. After entering the straight was awkwardly placed in restricted room inside the heels of 10 Happy Alloy, was forced to check and clipped heels.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into the circumstances in which 12 My Lucky Baby (K M Lei) was checked and clipped heels after entering the straight. It was established that at the entrance to the straight 12 My Lucky Baby when tracking 10 Happy Alloy (H Lam) improved inside that runners heels as 10 Happy Alloy rolled out marginally and subsequently was forced to check ad that horse rolled back to its original position. In being checked 12 My Lucky Baby clipped the heels of 10 Happy Alloy. After considering Jockey K M Lei’s explanation and reviewing the official vision, the Stewards took no action as they considered Jockey K M Lei had permitted 12 My Lucky Baby when racing keenly to improve into a position where in the opinion of the Stewards there was insufficient running. Jockey K M Lei was cautioned and advised to in future ensure there was sufficient room prior to improving into runs.

6 Easy Money (R Silvera) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Happy Alloy (H Lam) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
