Race Report

RACE-5 THE GOSFORD RATING 80-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1950 METRES (71)
At 1:03pm Trainer G Allendorf advised the Stewards that as 2 Energy Gladiator (A Calder)
was up in distance in today’s race he would instruct Jockey A Calder from the good barrier draw to have the gelding travelling where it was comfortable.

2 Energy Gladiator (A Calder) –Rounding the home turn was held up and unable to improve; Near the 350 metres attempted a run to the inside of 1 Best Pioneer where there was insufficient room and was steadied; thereafter continued to be held up until the 250 metres.
3 Fortune Smiles (H Lam) -Over raced in the early and middle stages and leaving the 1000 metres raced 3 wide without cover for the remainder of the race.
6 Boy From The Bay (R Stewart) -Rounding the home turn was held up and unable to obtain clear running until the 350 metres.
7 Gauteng (K W Leong) -Raced keenly in the early stages.
8 Haayil Shadow (W T Pao) -Leaving the 1400 metres was steadied and taken wider on the track when awkwardly placed on the heels of 3 Fortune Smiles.
9 Turquoise Dane (K Abobo) -Was slow to begin.
10 Sunshine Spirit (K K Lai) -Leaving the 800 metres commenced to hang out for a short distance.

VETERINARY
2 Energy Gladiator (A Calder) -A post race veterinary examination revealed that the horse was lame right foreleg. Trainer G Allendorf was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
9 Turquoise Dane (K Abobo) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
