Race Report

RACE-7 THE FLEMINGTON RATING 90-70 (CLASS 1&2) 1200 METRES (73)

1 Just In Time (W L Ho) -Hampered shortly after the start by 11 Scandicmaster.
2 Smiling Happy (R Stewart) -Steadied near the 700 metres when awkwardly placed on the heels of 12 Wonder Alloy.
4 Happy Proposal (M Cangas) -Bumped on jumping away by 7 Let Me Run; Hung out leaving the 600 metres until the remainder of the race. Trainer G W Moore was informed that a warning had been placed against the horse in relation to its racing manners.
5 Hostwin Challenge (C Perkins) -Hampered shortly after the start by 1 Just In Time.
6 Turquoise Profit (L Corrales) -Near the 600 metres steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 7 Let Me Run.
7 Let Me Run (K M Lei) -Bumped on jumping away by 4 Happy Proposal.
8 Northern Champion (H Lam) -Rider reported horse hung out in the home straight and was unable to fully test his mount at any stage. Trainer V Chong was informed that a warning had been placed against the horse and a repetition of similar racing manners may lead to action being taken.
9 Power Alkhafif (K K Lai) -Jumped awkwardly.
11 Scandicmaster (R Silvera) -Rounding the home turn was held up and unable to obtain clear running until approaching the 350 metres.
12 Wonder Alloy (W T Pao) -Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.

INQUIRY
The Stewards inquired into the reasons 2 Smiling Happy (R Stewart) was eased near the 700 metres. It was established that near the 700 metres 1 Just In Time (W L Ho) shifted in when insufficiently clear of 12 Wonder Alloy (W T Pao) resulting in that horse being taken in onto 2 Smiling Happy which had to be eased. Considering all the evidence, the Stewards issued Jockey W L Ho with a reprimand and advised him to ensure that he is 2 lengths clear of other runners when shifting ground..
