Race Report

RACE-7 THE BRANTOME RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1500 METRES (299)

1 My Eternal Flame (K K Lai) –Inside the 1300 metres was inclined to lay out; Approaching the 400 metres became held up briefly.
2 Will Go On (W T Pao) –Inside the 1300 metres was inconvenienced as its hindquarters were turned out and then became awkward on the heels of 7 Boy From The Bay which shifted in.
4 Luen Yat Sure Win (K Abobo) –In the vicinity of the 1300 metres was obliged to race in restricted room for some distance, prior to being checked losing its position.
5 Spaceage Eagle (B Yamzon) –Near the 1200 metres was checked when attempting to avoid heels.
7 Boy From The Bay (A Calder) –From the vicinity of the 1300 metres was inclined to lay in marginally; Near the 400 metres was inconvenienced as its hindquarters were turned out.
12 Windsor Arch Four (R Silvera) –Approaching the 400 metres Was intinally taken out brushing the hindquarters of 7 Boy From The Bay and then clipped the heels of that runner, At the entrance to the straight was obliged to ease off the heels of 1 My Eternal Flame.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into the circumstances 12 Windsor Arch Four (R Silvera) clipped heels in the vicinity of the 400 metres. The Stewards established that prior to the 400 metres 1 My Eternal Flame (K K Lai) after being held up briefly shifted out onto 12 Windsor Arch Four causing that horse to brush the hinquarters of 7 Boy From The Bay (A Calder) turning its hindquarters out and causing it to roll in marginally. As a result 12 Windsor Arch Four clipped the heels of 7 Boy From The Bay. After considering the evidence and viewing the official vision, the Stewards issued Jockey K K Lai with a severe reprimand and he was advised in future to only shift ground when entitle to do so.

The Stewards inquired into the circumstances in which 4 Luen Yat Sure Win (K Abobo) was checked losing its position in the vicinity of the 1200 metres. It was established that approaching the 1200 metres 1 My Eternal Flame (K K Lai) shifted out onto 4 Luen Yat Sure Win tightening that horse onto the hindquarters of 2 Will Go On (W T Pao) turning its hindquarters out as it continued to race inside the heels of 7 Boy From The Bay (A Calder). As 7 Boy From The Bay rolled in and away from 12 Windsor Arch Four (R Silvera) to its outside, 2 Will Go On was taken in crowding the running of 4 Luen Yat Sure Win which was checked losing its position. In consequence 5 Spaceage Eagle (B Yamzon) was checked losing its momentum in attempting to avoid the heels of 4 Luen Yat Sure Win. After considering the evidence and reviewing the official vision, as the Stewards were satisfied that several factors had contributed to the incident, no action was taken.

3 Riches Treasure (L Corrales) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Boy From The Bay (A Calder) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
12 Windsor Arch Four (R Silvera) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
