Race Report

RACE-3 THE SANDOWN RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1400 METRES (197)
Prior to the race Mr. G Allendorf the trainer of 3 Correio (L Corrales) advised the Stewards that
from the outside alley he would be instructing the rider to settle back in the field with cover today.

2 Classical Music (L Salles) –Raced wide without cover.
3 Correio (L Corrales) –Was held up from the 400 metres until the entrance to the straight and then had some difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 200 metres;
4 Companion (K W Leong) –Raced keenly during the early and middle stages
5 Beautiful Alloy (H Lam) – Rider reported that the wide alley was detrimental to his mount’s chances today and in his opinion would be better suited over a shorter distance.
6 Notevenow (C Perkins) –Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
9 Danpaoshaq (J Horcajada) –Rider explained his mount had failed to respond to his riding despite his urgings and that it would be better suited over more ground.
10 Jylland (B Yamzon) –Shortly after the start had to be steadied off heels; Raced keenly throughout the event and was help up for some distance after passing the 600 metres and until near the 400 metres.
12 Gold And Silver (W T Pao) –Laid out rounding the home turn.

VETERINARY:
4 Companion (K W Leong) – A post race veterinary examination of 4 Companion which was disappointing reveal that the horse was lame in the left foreleg; Trainer J Lau was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
5 Beautiful Alloy (H Lam) –A post race veterinary examination of 5 Beautiful Alloy which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
