Mr. K H Leong the trainer of 11 Only Pearl (H Lam) advised that he would be instructing the rider to settle the gelding which normally races in a handy position further back today.

1 Classical Music (K H Yu) -Raced wide without cover; Rider reported his mount hung out rounding the turn.
5 General'S Steed (W T Pao) -Was slow to begin (1L)
6 Mission Well (W L Ho) -Slow to begin (2L).
8 Friends Galore (A Calder) -Was slow to begin (1L); Poor performance; Rider reported that his mount raced greenly and hung out rounding the turn; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
10 Super Buffet (L Corrales) -Poor performance; Rider could offer no real excuses except that his mount failed to respond when put under pressure; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
11 Only Pearl (H Lam) -Over raced in the early and middle stages; Near the winning post was bumped by 4 Luck Of The Dragon which shifted in under pressure and had to be steadied.
12 Start It Now (B Yamzon) -Was slow to begin (1L).

INQUIRY:
Near the winning post 11 Only Pearl (H Lam) was bumped by 4 Luck Of The Dragon (L Salles) which shifted in under pressure and had to be steadied. Jockey L Salles was issued with a reprimand and notified that he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when shifting ground in future.

VETERINARY:
8 Friends Galore (A Calder) –A post race veterinary examination of 8 Friends Galore which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Super Buffet (L Corrales) –A post race veterinary examination of 10 Super Buffet which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
