Race Report

RACE-1 ICBC (Macau) Charity Trophy RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1200 METRES (233)
Prior to the event Mr. S Chow trainer of 9 Concentration (W T Pao) advised that he would be instructing the rider to settled just off the pace today.

2 Mission Fortune (R Curatolo)-Shortly after the start had to be checked when tightened for room between 10 Windsor Arch Two and 6 Cutey Bear which was taken out by 3 Ratnaraj. Approaching the 800 metres got its head up and commenced to race ungenerously for some distance. Raced wide without cover.
3 Ratnaraj (K W Leong)-Was hampered when tightened for room on jumping away.
4 Best Jade Luck (M Cangas)-On arrival at the barrier was examined by the vet surgeon and passed fit to run.
6 Cutey Bear (B Yamzon)-Shortly after the start had to be checked when tightened for room between 3 Ratnaraj and 2 Mission Fortune. Over raced for the middle stages and had to be steadied off heels approaching the 600 metres.
7 Best Jade Win (C Perkins)-Was marginally slow to begin.
8 Hungpaoshaq (L Corrales)-On arrival at the barrier was examined by the vet surgeon and passed fit to run. Raced three wide without cover.
9 Concentration (W T Pao)-Over raced during the early stages as a result lead the field.
10 Windsor Arch Two (W L Ho)-Rider reported that his saddle shifted forward at 600 metres and for this reason he was unable to ride the gelding out in his usual manner. Jockey W L Ho suffered a harmless fall after the winning post and was examined by the official medical officer and passed fit to continue his riding engagement.

INQUIRY:
Mr. S Chow the trainer of 9 Concentration (W T Pao) was questioned in regard to the apparent improved performance today. He advised that the gelding had struck interference at a vital part of the race at its most recent run and also the drop in class was a benefit to it. He had increased the workload of the horse as it had been disappointing which also may have been beneficial to it however he was surprised with the win today.

VETERINARY:
6 Cutey Bear (B Yamzon)-A post race veterinary of 6 Cutey Bear which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
