Race Report

RACE-5 Honorary Racing Stewards Charity Cup RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (243)
Prior to the race Mr. S Chow the trainer 5 See See Leading (L Salles) advised the Stewards that due to a substantial pace in today’s event he would be instructing his rider to obtain a position off the pace with cover.
Was ridden accordingly.

4 River God Choi (L Corrales) –Raced wide without cover throughout.
8 Strong Alloy (C F Wong) –Inside the 100 metres when laying out had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on heels and went to the line not fully tested; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
9 Sunshine Godsend (D Chong) –Shortly after the start had to be checked when tightened for room between 11 China Cheers and 12 Gold Selection which shifted out;
10 Happy Proposal (M Cangas) –Inside the 200 metres was steadied when attempting a run where there was barely sufficient room.
12 Gold Selection (C F Chan) –For some distance rounding the home turn was held up and unable to improve its position.

INQUIRY:
When questioned regarding his riding in the straight, Jockey D Chong the rider of 9 Sunshine Godsend explained that the gelding was hanging in and for this reason he had some difficulty in riding his mount in his usual manner. He added that he had to shift wider on the track in the straight to obtain clear running.

VETERINARY:
8 Strong Alloy (C F Wong) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
