Race Report

RACE-1 2015 Macauslot Horse Racing Charity Trophy RATING 55-0 (CLASS 4,5&6) 1200 METRES (239)

Prior to the race the connections of 9 Colina Da Penha (H Lam) advised the Stewards that they will be allowing the gelding to settle today in an attempt to allow it to finish off the race.
Settled towards the rear of the field, however failed to run on.

Prior to the race the connections of 3 My Lovely Faye (Apprentice Y M Choi) advised they would be instructing the rider to lead today on that gelding which had been settling further back and failing to run on.
Failed to muster sufficient speed despite the urgings of its rider and settled in 4th position.

7 Sandtop (K W Leong) –Shortly after jumping away was carried out by 5 Yummy Yummy which shifted out and as a result brushed 1 Rayden which became unbalanced; Over raced in the early stages and near the 800 metres had to be steadied when racing in restricted room; Near the 400 metres was held up when unable to improve for a short distance.
8 Sunshine Melody (R Curatolo) –Marginally slow to begin unbalancing its rider and as result lost some ground; 9 Colina Da Penha (H Lam) –Over raced during the early stages and approaching the 800 metres had to be steadied off heels; Laid out rounding the home turn.
10 Fly With The Wind (A Calder) –Was marginally slow to begin; Was then hampered for room and as a result lost ground; Laid out in the straight.

INQUIRY:
Jockey K W Leong was severely reprimanded for failing to obey an instruction in that he refused to mount 7 Sandtop prior to the race when requested to do so.
