Race Report

RACE-1 THE MOTHERWELL RATING 40-20 (CLASS 5) 1500 METRES (276)
Mr. S H Cheong the trainer of 11 My Eternal Flame (L Corrales) advised the Stewards that he would be instructing the rider to settle the gelding, which had been racing at the rear of the field and failing to run on, in a more forward position today. An announcement was made to that effect.
11 My Eternal Flame (L Corrales) settled just off mid field.

Mr. M C Tam the trainer of 8 Road To Victory (A Calder) advised that from a wide alley the rider will be attempting to settle it further back with cover. An announcement was made to that effect.
8 Road To Victory (A Calder) settled at the rear of the field.

1 Diamond Whirlwind (C Perkins) – Rider advised that the gelding was not suited by the fast tempo of today’s event and he was caught wide which was detrimental to its chances; Disappointing performance; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
2 Jylland (B Yamzon) –Over raced in the early and middle stages; Lost its left front plate during the race.
4 Golden Lion (C F Chan) –Was slow to begin; Hung out throughout and raced wide without cover; Tailed off. A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards; Trainer K C Hoi was informed that he would be required to present 4 Golden Lion to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 3rd May 2015 and in addition it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in the barrier trial.
5 Happy School Boy (L Salles) - Shortly after straightening shifted in slightly and brushed 6 Qiao Tou Win and became unbalanced, was then taken out by that gelding which was hanging out.
6 Qiao Tou Win (D Chong) –Raced keenly during the early stages. For some distance rounding the home turn and in the straight was held up when unable to obtain clear running; Approaching the 200 metres shifted out to obtain clear running taking 5 Happy School Boy out off its course. Rider was reprimanded and notified that he must have sufficient room when attempting runs at all times; Hung out from the 200 metres.
10 Vitality Pioneer (R Curatolo) –Laid out in the straight.
12 Rivers Elite (K W Leong) –Raced three wide without cover throughout.

VETERINARY:
1 Diamond Whirlwind (C Perkins) –A post race veterinary examination of 1 Diamond Whirlwind which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Golden Lion (C F Chan) –A post race veterinary examination of 4 Golden Lion which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
