Race Report

RACE-2 THE HANOVER RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1500 METRES (397)

Prior to the race, Mr. P Leyshan the trainer of 1 Retrofit (R Stewart) advised the Stewards that he would instruct the rider to lead if possible and if unable to do so to settle in 2nd or 3rd position.

1 Retrofit (R Stewart) –Raced very keenly during the middle stages; Settled outside the leader before giving ground at the 700 metres; Poor performance; Rider reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure; Trainer P Leyshan advised the Stewards that 1 Retrofit will be spelled; Nevertheless the Stewards notified Mr. Leyshan that the horse will not be permitted to race until it has perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and a veterinary clearance is produced.
2 Fortune Target (A Calder) –Was slow to begin; Approaching and passing the 400 metres was held up when unable to obtain a clear run.
3 Just Go With It (L Corrales) –Near the 1200 metres had to be steadied when tightened by 7 Luen Yat Command which shifted in when laying in despite the efforts of its rider.
4 Turquoise Lucky (C F Chan) – Had to be resaddled at the barriers delaying the start slightly.
6 Great Party (W L Ho) –Raced keenly in the early stages; Poor performance; Rider reported his mount did not respond to his riding when put under pressure; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
7 Luen Yat Command (L Salles) –Near the 400 metres had to be steadied when held up behind the weakening 1 Retrofit.

VETERINARY:
1 Retrofit (R Stewart) – A post race veterinary examination of 1 Retrofit which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Great Party (W L Ho) – A post race veterinary examination of 6 Great Party which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
