Race Report

RACE-1 THE DRESDEN RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (396)

2 My Target (B Yamzon) –Raced wide without cover.
7 Cargo Money (R Stewart) –After arriving at the barriers was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the request of the rider and was passed fit to race; Was marginally slow to begin; Near the 900 metres was taken out off its course by 4 Accelera which shifted out abruptly; After improving onto the heels of 2 My Target had to steadied and shifted out near the 300 metres; Poor performance; Rider stated his mount could not keep with the pace and in his opinion would be better suited over a longer distance; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
9 Delight Consul (C F Wong) –Was slightly slow to begin; Approaching the 400 metres had to be steadied when racing close to the heels of 11 Windsor Arch Two.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Near the 1100 metres 6 Rivers Elite (L Salles) when being steadied had to be restrained to avoid the heels of 4 Accelera (D Chong) which was taken in by 10 Concentration (K H Yu)
which shifted in when not quite clear. In all the circumstances no action was taken, however all riders were advised that they must be clear of other runners when shifting ground at all times. 8 Shadow Master (W Smith) which was following was hampered as a consequence.

Jockey A Calder the rider of 3 Sharp Spear pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of MJC Rule 132 (i) in that rounding the turn near the 1200 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 5 Vitality Pioneer which was tightened for room and had to be checked. His licence to ride was suspended for a period of two racemeetings to cover the meetings of 7th and 14th August 2015. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Calder’s guilty plea and his good record. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

VETERINARY:
1 Mission Fortune (L Corrales) – A post race veterinary examination of 1 Mission Fortune which performed poorly revealed that the horse was making some abnormal respiratory noises.
5 Vitality Pioneer (R Curatolo) –A post race veterinary examination of 5 Vitality Pioneer which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Cargo Money (R Stewart) –A post race veterinary examination of 7 Cargo Money failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
