Race Report

RACE-3 THE ESSEN RATING 40-20 (CLASS 5) 1200 METRES (398)

2 Lucky And Strong (B Yamzon) –Knuckled on jumping away unbalancing its rider; Poor performance; Rider reported that his mount was stumbling in the going and he was unable to ride it out in his usual manner; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards; Trainer G Allendorf was informed that he would be required to present the horse to the Veterinary Clinic on Saturday, 1 August 2015.
3 Best Double (A Calder) –Was examined behind the barriers at the request of its rider and was passed fit to race; Poor Performance; Rider reported that his mount failed to handle the going; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
4 Modena World (H Lam) –Over raced during the early stages
6 Lucky And Healthy (R Stewart) – Poor performance; Rider reported his mount failed to handle the going, resented the kickback and failed to respond to his riding; For this reason he did not ride his mount out with his usual vigour; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards; Trainer G Allendorf was informed that he would be required to present the horse to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 1 August 2015.
7 Liver Pool (W Smith) –Raced three wide without cover.
10 Happy Proposal (C F Chan) –From the 500 metres to the 250 metres was held up and unable to obtain clear running.
12 Twiningoceanstarbo (W L Ho) –Shortly after the start was steadied to avoid the heels of 7 Liver Pool which was shifting in.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
On jumping away 6 Lucky And Healthy (R Stewart) and 9 Active Power (L Salles) had to be checked when tightened for room between 11 Charming Shanghai and 3 Best Double (A Calder) which shifted in.

VETERINARY:
2 Lucky And Strong (B Yamzon) – A post race veterinary examination of 2 Lucky And Strong which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Best Double (A Calder) –A post race veterinary examination of 3 Best Double which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Lucky And Healthy (R Stewart) – A post race veterinary examination of 6 Lucky And Healthy which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
