Race Report

RACE-2 THE HAMILTON RATING 40-20 (CLASS 5) 1500 METRES (409)

2 Rusharound (R Stewart) –Examined on arrival at the barriers by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race; Disappointing; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
3 The Precious Prime (H Lam) –Jumped away awkwardly;
4 Happy School Boy (C F Wong) –Raced keenly during the early stages
6 Cheerful Companion (K H Yu) –Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground
7 Truly Heart (R Curatolo) –Raced extremely wide without cover throughout the event.
10 Smart Ebony (B Yamzon) –Was slightly slow to begin and then had to steady off the heels of 9 Active Power which shifted out; Raced very ungenerously rounding the turn out of the straight; Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the straight; Rider accidently lost the use of his right reins after the 250 metres.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
When questioned as to why 3 The Precious Prime (H Lam) led tonight when it had settled at the rear at its last two starts, Mr. Pat Lee the trainer stated that on both starts he had instructed the rider to lead, however it had been unable to do over the sprint journey of 1050 metres.

VETERINARY:
2 Rusharound (R Stewart) –A post race veterinary examination of 2 Rusharound which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
