Race Report

RACE-2 THE CARLISLE RATING 40-20 (CLASS 5) 1200 METRES (377)
Following the running of this race, the “Enquiry” sign was semaphored to ascertain whether DARK FORECAST (W T PAO) had an opportunity to jump away with the field. It was established that when the gates opened, DARK FORECAST stood flat footed and lost considerable ground, and as such DARK FORECAST was declared a starter. Trainer G ALLENDORF was advised that DARK FORECAST will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has passed a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
THE GANGSTER (B YAMZON) jumped awkwardly.
Near the 1000 metres THE GANGSTER (B YAMZON) was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER DAN (APPRENTICE M CANGAS).
Near the 700 metres ORACLE MASTER (L CORRALES) shifted out slightly resulting in MACAU KING (APPRENTICE C PERKINS) which was awkwardly placed close to its heels being steadied and MY LUCKY BABY (T PEREIRA) which was following and over racing slightly getting its head up and hanging out when being steadied away from the heels of MACAU KING.
Near the 700 metres SUPER DAN (APPRENTICE M CANGAS) was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LITTLE DRAGON FLY (K L LEI) which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey K L LEI was advised to exercise more care.
Near the 400 metres MACAU KING (APPRENTICE C PERKINS) which was travelling strongly was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHOIRUNHANGTUNG (K M CHIN) resulting in MY LUCKY BABY (T PEREIRA) which was following being steadied and SUPER DAN (APPRENTICE M CANGAS) which was following being checked, shifting out and bumping THE GANGSTER (B YAMZON) which became badly unbalanced and bumped MY CUP OF TEA (M NUNES).
In the early part of the straight MACAU KING (APPRENTICE C PERKINS) had difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 150 metres was shifted out to obtain clear running.
After the race the veterinary surgeon reported that MY LUCKY BABY (T PEREIRA) had cast its left fore plate.
