RACE-4 MACAU GOLD CUP (TRIPLE CROWN - 3rd Leg) (GROUP 1) OPEN 1800 METRES (426)
2 Lucky And Wealthy (A Helfenbein)-Near the 300 metres was brushed.
5 Hostwin Donatello (L Corrales)-Near the 700 metres brushed the running rail. Near the 500 metres became held up for a short distance.
8 Best Season (W L Ho)-On jumping was taken across the back of the field to a position closer to the inside rail.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident in the vicinity of 300 metres in which the left hand of A Helfenbein the rider of 2 Lucky And Wealthy had contacted the neck of 8 Best Season (W L Ho). A Helfenbein explained that the outside horse shifted in abruptly and he was concerned it might attempt to savage him. After considering the evidence and reviewing the official vision, the Stewards charged A Helfenbein under Rule of 132(i) with improper riding in that his left hand had made contact with 8 Best Season. A Helfenbein pleaded guilty and was suspended from riding for 2 Macau Jockey Club racemeetings to take effect from mid-night Sunday, 3 August 2014 and conclude at mid-night on Saturday, 9 August 2014. In addition the Stewards imposed a fine of HK$5000. A Helfenbein was advised of his right of appeal at 7:20pm. In determining this penalty the Stewards took into consideration the effect of the penalty in Germany

The Stewards will interview R Curatolo the rider of 6 Luenyat Blackberry in relation to his whip action in the early part of the straight when that rider is available.
