Race Report

RACE-7 THE NIGHTMARCH RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (107)
DIAMOND WHIRLWIND (APPRENTICE Y M CHOI), MY ETERNAL FLAME (T PEREIRA), IT'S A ROUND WORLD (K W LEONG), REGAL RUNNER (A HELFENBEIN) and MONSTER (W L HO) jumped awkwardly.
WONDERFUL EXPRESS (K L LEI) raced wide for the majority of the race.
When questioned with regards to the performance of STAR BO BO, Jockey K M CHIN explained that he was instructed to have the horse on the speed into today’s race and he rode the horse along in the early stages in accordance with those instructions, however near the 700 metres of STAR BO BO commenced to lay out resulting in the gelding being forced to race in a three wide position for the remainder of the race. He added that when he placed the horse under pressure in the home straight STAR BO BO failed to respond to his riding and did not finish the race off as expected. He further added in his opinion, the rise in Class and the wide barrier had contributed to the gelding’s disappointing performance.
A post race veterinary examination of MASTER KABIDDI (L JURADO) failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
Trainer K C WONG was informed that he would be required to present MASTER KABIDDI to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Monday, 12th November 2012.
