Race Report

RACE-4 THE LIGURIAN RATING 40-20 (CLASS 5) 1200 METRES (52)
This race was rescheduled to start at 3:50pm.

1 Golden Cornered (B Yamzon) –Was slow into stride; Tightened for room and checked near the 600 metres.
2 River Forever (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Hung out shortly after the start.
5 Fast Mi (M Cangas) –Was hampered shortly after the start by 2 River Forever which hung out despite its effort of its rider.
6 Voguish (Suraj Narredu) –Bumped 8 Vitality Pioneer near the 600 metres.
7 River good Choice (K W Leong) – Raced greenly near the 600 metres.
8 Vitality Pioneer (J Horcajada) –Bumped by 6 Voguish near the 800 metres.
10 Cutey Bear (Apprentice C F Wong) –Jumped awkwardly.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 600 metres where 1 Golden Cornered (B Yamzon) raced in restricted room, was checked and made contact with the inside running rail. It was established that rounding the first turn near the 600 metres, 7 River Good Choice (K W Leong) laid out slightly and at the same time Jockey B Yamzon the rider of 1 Golden Cornered attempted to improve into a narrow run to the inside of 7 River Good Choice. Consequently 7 River Good Choice then rolled in slightly resulting in 1 Golden Cornered being tightened onto the running rail and had to be checked. After considering all the circumstances the Stewards could not be satisfied that there was a full run for 1 Golden Cornered to improve to the inside of 7 River Good Choice and as such took no further action other than to advise all riders to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

4 Best Jade Win (L Corrales) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
