Race Report

RACE-6 THE GINEVRA RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (54)
At 4:46pm, Mr. C F Chan the trainer of 13 Beautiful Alloy (B Yamzon) advised that he would instruct Jockey B Yamzon from the wide barrier draw to position 13 Beautiful Alloy at the back of the field and to save ground so as to give the horse a chance to finish its race off.

4 Clown Master (Suraj Narredu) –Raced wide rounding the home turn.
6 Charming Beijing (W L Ho) –Was held up and unable to establish clear running at any stage in the home straight and went to the finish line without being fully tested.
7 Happy Proposal (M Cangas) –Was held up and unable to establish clear running near the 150 metres between 13 Beautiful Alloy and 2 Happiness In Peace and as a result had to be checked and went to the finish line without being fully tested.
9 Sunshine Melody (J Horcajada) –Was slow to begin; Held up for clear running in the home straight until near the 150 metres.
10 Magician Code (A Calder) –Was slow to begin
13 Beautiful Alloy (B Yamzon) –Was slow to begin.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards questioned Jockey W T Pao the rider of 12 Smart Supreme in relation to the movement of his right arm rounding the home turn. Jockey W T Pao stated that rounding the home turn he had difficulty pulling his whip through to his right hand as his whip had got caught in his reins and that explained his exaggerated movement. After viewing the footage the Stewards confirmed his explanation and no further action was taken.

When questioned regarding the performance of 5 Explosive Blast, Jockey O Urbina stated that from the good draw he had to make use of 5 Explosive Blast in the early stages to maintain its position. He stated that 5 Explosive Blast travelled well in running however when placed under pressure the gelding did not respond as expected and failed to finish its race off. He further stated that in his opinion 5 Explosive Blast will be benefit from today’s experience and may be looking for races over a longer distance.

VETERINARY:
5 Explosive Blast (O Urbina) – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Charming Beijing (W L Ho) – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
