Race Report

RACE-2 THE COASTAL BLUFF RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1500 METRES (385)
This race was rescheduled to start at 8:50pm.

1 Flaming Star (C Perkins) – Near the 1000 metres had to be steadied when close to the heels of 6 Galaxy Dragon;
2 Crowning Mission (W L Ho) –Was slightly slow to begin.
3 Hand By Hand (L Salles) –Raced keenly during the early and middle stages; Jockey L Salles explained that rounding the home turn he elected to shift wider on the track as he was of the belief that the going was superior. Rider L Salles’ whip was accidently knocked out of his hand when struck by the whip of R Stewart, rider of 6 Galaxy Dragon.
4 Aberdeen (A Calder) –When questioned rider reported that the horse prefer longer distance race; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
5 Trust My Bet (B Yamzon) –Jumped away awkwardly shifted in and brushed 8 Gem Fighter. Rider could not offer any explanation for the disappointing performance; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
6 Galaxy Dragon (R Stewart) –Over raced through the early and middle stages.
7 Modena Success (J Cordero) –Was slow to begin.
8 Gem Fighter (C F Chan) –On the turn out of the straight was inconvenienced by 2 Crowning Mission.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
When questioned regarding his action approaching the winning post, L Salles rider of 3 Hand By Hand explained that he was close to the heels of 1 Flaming Star (C Perkins) inside the 50 metres and stood up for a number of strides to ease his mount before commencing to ride hands and heels. The Stewards did not believe that his action had any effect on the result of the race.

VETERINARY:
4 Aberdeen (A Calder) – A post race veterinary examination of 4 Aberdeen which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Trust My Bet (B Yamzon) –A post race veterinary examination of 5 Trust My Bet which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
