Race Report

RACE-6 THE BAGUETTE RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1050 METRES (389)
This race was rescheduled to start at 10:50pm.

3 Inventive (A Calder) –Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground; Inconvenienced after passing the 600 metres; Was held up on the latter part of the home turn when unable to improve its position.
4 Lobor Treasure (D Chong) - Raced in restricted room near the 900 metres.
Poor performance; Rider stated his mount failed to respond when placed under pressure; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
6 Yue Sing (W Smith) - Raced in restricted room near the 900 metres.
10 Take My Breathaway (C Perkins) –Jumped away awkwardly; Hampered and steadied off heels near the 600 metres.
11 Great Idea (K H Yu) –Inconvenienced after passing the 600 metres.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Jockey W Smith the rider of 6 Yue Sing pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 600 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 4 Lobor Treasure (D Chong) which had to be checked. Jockey W Smith’s licence to rider was suspended for a period of two racemeetings to cover the meetings of 7th and 14th August 2015. In arriving at the penalty the Stewards took into account Jockey Smith’s guilty plea, his good record and the severity of the interference. He was informed of his Right of Appeal.

VETERINARY:
4 Lobor Treasure (D Chong) –A post race veterinary examination of 4 Lobor Treasure which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
