Race Report

RACE-3 THE CALCUTTA RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1100 METRES (416)

1 China Cheers (C F Wong) –Was slow to begin; Dipped in the going through the early and middle stages; Laid in in the straight.
6 Vancouver Jaguar (W L Ho) – Rider could offer no real explanation for the disappointing performance other than to state that the gelding may not have been suited by the application of the blinkers tonight.
8 Gem Fighter (C F Chan) –Had a tendency to lay out throughout.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Jockey C Perkins the rider of Mission Gdragon returned to scales 1lbs under his mount’s allocated weight. Under the provisions of MJC Rule 141 (iii) the Stewards allowed the 1lb and declared correct weight, however C Perkins was severely reprimanded for weighing in under his allotted weight.

VETERINARY:
6 Vancouver Jaguar (W L Ho) –A post race veterinary examination of 6 Vancouver Jaguar which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
