Race Report

RACE-4 THE CHIEFTAIN RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1050 METRES (4)
SPRIGGAN (C F CHAN) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon prior to the start and was passed fit to start.
VANCE (W T PAO) jumped in at the start and made contact with the hindquarters of BEAUTIFUL GLORY (K L LEI).
BEST QUALITY BOARD (P H CHAN) which jumped awkwardly was further tightened on jumping away between POWER CLIMBER (K F CHOI) and SPRIGGAN (C F CHAN) which jumped inwards. In this incident POWER CLIMBER also became unbalanced.
SUPER MONSTER (H LAM) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
Near the 700 metres SPRIGGAN (C F CHAN) and SUPER MONSTER (H LAM) bumped.
MONTAQUILA (K H YU) raced wide from the 700 metres.
Jockey C W CHOI the rider of SUPER PERFECT was charged under MJC Rule 14 (xvii)(a) for negligence in that he failed to ride his mount to end of the race. Jockey C W CHOI was fined the sum of HK$5,000 and he was advised of his Right of Appeal at 10:02pm.
SUPER MONSTER (H LAM) and SUPER PERFECT (C W CHOI) raced wide throughout.
A post veterinary examination of both SUPER MONSTER (H LAM) and SUPER PERFECT (C W CHOI) failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
Subsequent to the race, swab samples were taken from KA WO FORTUNE (K M CHIN) and MONTAQUILA (K H YU).
