Race Report

RACE-9 THE ROAN ROCKET RATING 30-10 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (9)
LITTLE DRAGON FLY (K L LEI) jumped away awkwardly.
BEST STALLION (LEI KIN MENG) was slow to begin.
INTELLIGENT STAR (APPRENTICE C F WONG) raced wide until near the 900 metres.
CHARMING GLORY (K W LEONG) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Near the 400 metres GOLDMEN FIGHTER (C W CHOI) had to be checked off the heels of INTELLIGENT STAR (APPRENTICE C F WONG) which was weakening and losing ground. A short distance later DOC JOE (K F CHOI) made contact with the hindquarters of GOLDMEN FIGHTER which became unbalanced.
BEST STALLION (LEI KIN MENG) race wide rounding the home turn.
Near the 100 metres GOLDMEN FIGHTER (C W CHOI) and DOC JOE (K F CHOI) brushed.
KINSON (M NUNES) and LITTLE DRAGON FLY (K L LEI) raced wide throughout.
A post race veterinary examination of INTELLIGENT STAR (APPRENTICE C F WONG) failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
Subsequent to the race, swab samples were taken from CHARMING GLORY (K W LEONG) and BEST STALLION (LEI KIN MENG).
General
As Jockey C F CHAN was indisposed after the running of Race 6, the Stewards gave permission for the following substitutions:
Race 7 - BEST REPUTED HORSE (H LAM)
Race 8 - GOOD RETURN (W L HO)
Race 9 - BEST STALLION (LEI KIN MENG)
Withdrawals
