Race Report

RACE-2 THE SCARBOROUGH RATING 40-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1600 METRES (289)

2 Chinese Dragon (W Smith) –Poor performance; Rider stated the gelding raced keenly in the early stages and for this reason he elected to shift to the outside entering the back straight to give his mount clear running room; As a result raced five wide without cover from that point. A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
4 Laughing World (C F Wong) –Over raced in the early stages.
5 Rusharound (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Lost its right fore plate
6 Overcome Challenge (K H Yu) –Raced keenly through the middle stage; Passing the 600 metres shifted out when awkwardly placed on heels and inconvenienced 1 King Me and 2 Chinese Dragon.
7 Sheng Li Grand (H Lam) –Was slow to muster speed.
8 Turquoise Fly (L Salles) –Bounded in the air when the gates were released and lost ground.
10 Shadow Master (D Chong) –Raced four wide without cover.

RACING INCIDENT :
On entering the back straight 8 Turquoise Fly (L Salles) and 7 Sheng Li Grand (H Lam) were hampered when 2 Chinese Dragon (W Smith) shifted out when racing close to the heels of 1 King Me (L Corrales).

VETERINARY:
2 Chinese Dragon (W Smith) –A post race veterinary examination of 2 Chinese Dragon which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
