RACE-6 THE NOTTS COUNTY RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1500 METRES (293)

3 Jungle Prince (H Lam) –Disappointing; Rider reported his mount raced extremely fiercely during the early and middle stages of the event; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
4 Best Co Tack (A Calder) –Was slow to muster speed.
5 Vigorous Momentum (W Smith) –Was slow to begin (1L);
7 Brave Horse (C F Wong) –Over raced badly during the early and middle stages
8 Charity Group (W T Pao) –Dwelt at the start losing significant ground (4L); Trainer M C Tam was informed that a warning had been placed against 8 Charity Group for its barrier manners and should it perform in a similar manner in future further action maybe taken.

INQUIRY:
Apprentice Y M Choi the rider of 1 Nothing To Say pleaded guilty to a charge of negligence under MJC Rule 14 (xvii)(a) in that he failed to ride his mount to the winning post and in the opinion of the Stewards cost his mount 4th placing. Apprentice Choi was issued with a fine of HK$4,000. When arriving at this penalty, the Stewards took into consideration his guilty plea, his good record under this rule and that he is still an apprentice. He was advised of his Right of Appeal at 11:30pm.

VETERINARY:
3 Jungle Prince (H Lam) –A post race veterinary examination of 3 Jungle Prince which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
